Welcome to Building Others Up
Welcome to my new blog. My name is Joey Basta. Blogs seem to be the in thing these days so I thought I might as well get with it. Here you will read articles and stories that will encourage your walk with Christ. I hope that you will tag along with me for this wonderful ride that we call the “The Christian Walk.” so Lets go !!!

Thanks for sharing this, Joey. A blog devoted to encouraging one another in our Christian walks is a great idea. Most Christian websites have ARTICLES encouraging readers to walk with Christ, but they can get a little discouraging when they remind you of how you are failing (after all, the writer sounds like HE has it all together, but the READER realizes his own weakness). We may need a venue where we can tell each other, “Been there; done that; I blew it like that too; I struggle with temptation in that area. Here’s what works for me. I’m praying for you.”
Keep me posted. Take care and God bless.

Greetings Brother!
Just wanted to stop by and encourage YOU!
My 19 year-old son is a full-time ministry/college student, having just started an internship as a youth pastor. He is just as outspoken as his parents, and loves to do ministry in the same dark, dangerous neighborhoods as we do, ministering to all. After reading his most recent blog concerning parents that had shot heroine into their young daughter’s arm, and then threw her out because they couldn’t afford her habit as well as theirs, I had to remind him that if not for the grace of God it could as easily have been his parents. I had to remind him to do what Christ did.
And as YOU move forward in your new ministry, I want to encourage YOU to lean on Christ, remembering who He ministered to, and that one day it might cost you what it cost Him. It’s the risk we take for the sake of the Cross. However, more likely than not, it will only be some sleep lost, or a comfort zone surrendered — or in your case, literally some skin off your knees. But even if its more, it’s still a small price to pay in exchange for the price He paid.
Either way, keep the FAITH, and remember…
Pray Hard – Love Hard. Jesus Did.
Looking forward to working with you brother!
…Lucy
